Hotend flow test
WebMar 28, 2024 · To finish the speed tests we went big, REALLY BIG. We printed a 925% benchy which stands at 44cm tall. This was printed with a 1.4mm nozzle on a SuperVolcano with 1.65mm track widths and 1.00mm layer heights and took only 19hrs 45mins. For perspective, a standard 0.4mm V6 took 27hrs 6mins to print a 500% benchy. WebSep 9, 2024 · The SuperVolcano lives up to its name and can extrude out a 1.4mm nozzle without flinching. E3D is built on modularity, so every hotend can be swapped and upgraded as you grow your 3D printing skills. Within the V6 ecosystem, with the right heatsink, heartbreak, and nozzle any hotend can use 1.75mm or 2.85mm filament.

WebApr 1, 2024 · Creality lists the mechanical max print speed for a stock Creality Ender 3 3D printer as 200 mm/s. BUT, the maximum print speed of any 3D printer is usually limited by the flow rate from your hotend. Typical volumetric flow rates are 8mm³/s to 12mm³/s, depending on your hotend setup. These flow rates translate to 90-100mm/s and 140 … WebIf you push filament manually you can feel high back pressure. I think it same as e3d v6. Max performance is ~12 mm3/s, and then you get huge under extrusion. If you push filament manually you can feel even much high back pressure! Max performance is ~9 mm3/s, and then you get huge under extrusion! I can get 17 mm3/s!

All tests used a narrow but long 20 mm tall object that was easy to observe during printing with specific geometry designed to illustrate interlayer adhesion.
WebJan 23, 2024 · Test Print and Filament Flow Rate/Extrusion Multiplier Tuning. Now, when the extruder has been calibrated, we can tune the hotend flow. In various slicer software, this setting is named an Extrusion Multiplier or Flow Rate. On some printers, it is possible to tune the filament flow rate live during the print.
